International Youth Day

International Youth Day

Considering that half of the people on our planet are 30 years or younger with the projection to reach 57% by the end of 2030 and the fact that only 2.6% of parliamentarians are under the age of 30 with less than 1% of them being women globally, it is important that solidarity is shown across all generations to give more room for the young ones to express their full potential for all-round development. Therefore, we emphasize the need for the world to harness the full potential of all generations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, to ensure no one is left behind.

Though the COVID-19 pandemic seems protracted with its continuous debilitating impact, all hands must be on deck (across all generations) to identify and address all age-related barriers and biases against the advancement and prosperity of our youth.

Today, we identify with the voices of all youth, celebrate their potential and notable actions in making our world a better place. We will continue to play our role in supporting your goals, aspirations and growth.

Happy International Youth Day!
