Mental Health Outreach

In pursuit of an arm of our mission to promote the health and well-being of young people, and in view of the recently commemorated World Mental Health Day, about 700 students of Chapel Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State were sensitized on mental health issues this week.

We emphasized the need to consciously adopt positive healthy lifestyle for themselves and others so they can reach their full potential in life. We also assessed their awareness on mental health and some of the things they do that may affect their mental health through a quiz. We were also able to raise a group of mental health enthusiasts among them. These are our own ways of mentally equipping them for the life tasks and challenges they may face, now and in the future.

We appreciate the school authority and teachers for their cooperation, our volunteers for their great sacrifice, Dr. Titi Adeoye (a Senior Registrar, Psychiatry) who co-facilitated the session with Oluwaseun Oladoye, MPH, CSCA, and the medical students who joined us. A special thanks also goes to HACEY Health Initiative for aiding us.
Meanwhile, with your support too, we can do much more for young people and pursue other focal areas in line with our vision. You can donate to us via https://lnkd.in/dWc4eH9R and/or reach out to us for collaboration. Thank you all and God bless.

Let us always remember that “there is no health without mental health”!
